The Reuben Dog

  • 4 Miller's Polish Sausage
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 dill pickle spears
  • 1 cup sauerkraut
  • 4 slices of swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup russian dressing or thousand island dressing
  1. In a saucepan on medium heat, add the sauerkraut. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low once the sauerkraut is warm.
  2. Add water to a skillet over medium-high heat, covering surface with half an inch of water. Heat until water starts to boil.
  3. Add hot dogs to skillet and roll frequently until browned on all sides.
  4. Preheat oven to broil.
  5. Place slices of cheese on buns and place in oven for 1-2 minutes, or until cheese melts and buns slightly brown. Remove from oven.
  6. Place dogs in buns, add a heaping scoop of sauerkraut, a pickle spear and finish off with a drizzle of dressing.
