25-30 minutes Cook time

4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 4 Miller’s Uncured Polish Sausages
  • 1 lb. pizza dough
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 cup white onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, washed, seeded and sliced

Directions
  1. Cut polish sausages into thin slices.

  2. Place in skillet on medium heat and brown polish sausage slices, about 4-6 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  3. Preheat oven to to 450°F - 475°F

  4. Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.

  5. Split dough into two and stretch each one out to 12-14 inch circles.

  6. Divide cheese evenly into the center of each dough circle. Add the polish sausages, a little sauce and any other preferred pizza toppings.

  7. Fold dough over to form a half circle and crimp the edges with a fork. Cut two slits, about an inch long, on top of each calzone. Brush tops with olive oil.

  8. Place calzones on baking sheet and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust starts to brown.

  9. Remove and let the calzones cool for 5-10 minutes. Serve warm, with a side of sauce for dipping.
